Prof Yunus gifts ‘The Art of Triumph' to Justin Trudeau

Trudeau appreciated Professor Yunus for assuming the responsibility of chief adviser

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday handed over “The Art of Triumph”, an art book on the wall paintings of the Bangladeshi students painted during after the student-people revolution, to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

He handed over the art book to the Canadian premier at the UN headquarters in New York, according to the CA's press wing.

Prof Yunus met the Canadian prime minister on the sidelines of the UN general assembly meeting on Tuesday.

During the brief meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to cement Bangladesh-Canada relationships, deepen freedom, build institutions, and support the youth of Bangladesh.

Trudeau appreciated Professor Yunus for assuming the responsibility and expressed Canada's readiness to support institution building in Bangladesh.

The chief adviser described how the previous regime destroyed institutions of the country. The chief adviser appreciated Canada for its friendship with Bangladesh and the Canadian government's support for the interim government.

He requested Canada grant more visas to Bangladeshi students.

The chief adviser started his UN visits with a reception hosted by the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

He met prominent world leaders at the reception. He also joined the inaugural session of the UNGA. Later, he will hold a rare one-to-one meeting with US President Joe Biden.

He will also meet the IMF managing director and the Italian prime minister and will also speak at the Clinton Global Initiative and a Friends of Bangladesh.
