Since the interim government took office, rumors about the cancellation of the Tk1,000 note have been circulating on social media.
At one point, the Bangladesh Bank issued a notice stating that the information about the cancellation of Tk1,000 notes was false.
In response to a journalist's query about this issue, the government's Economic and Trade Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed said: "There is no problem with how things are proceeding.
"The main authority on this matter is the Bangladesh Bank. If they have said otherwise, then there should be no further issue. It will continue as it is,” he added.
After separate meetings with Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen and Canadian High Commissioner Lilly Nicholls at the Ministry of Finance, he provided this information to reporters.
