Md Nahid Islam, advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology and coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has stated that checking ordinary people's mobile phones and assaulting unarmed, innocent individuals are condemnable.
He said this in a post on his Facebook on Thursday afternoon.
In the Facebook post, Nahid Islam wrote: "Checking someone’s phone and assaulting unarmed, innocent individuals are condemnable. Similarly, presenting arrested individuals negatively in the media is a violation of human rights. Criminals should be tried according to the legal process."
He further wrote: "Our movement is founded on justice and principles. The aim of our student-citizen uprising was to dismantle the fascist system, ensure personal safety, and establish justice in society. We must continue our resistance while also maintaining the spirit of our uprising."
