Police have arrested former deputy speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku and former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak from Nikunja residential area in a murder case filed with Paltan Police Station.
Sources of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter on Wednesday night.
Police also arrested Tanvir Hasan Shaikat, general secretary of Dhaka University's Chhatra League unit.
They remained hiding in the Nikunja residential area under the Khilket police station, according to DMP.
Earlier on Tuesday, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s private industry affairs adviser Salman F Rahman and former law minister Anisul Huq were arrested by members of coast guards from Sadarghat area in Dhaka on Tuesday while they were trying to flee through the river route.
