The Police Headquarters have reported that operations have restarted in 538 police stations, including those in metropolitan areas.
Following the fall of the Awami League government amid student and public protests, enraged crowds set fire to and vandalized various police stations across the country.
As a result, operations at all police stations were temporarily halted. However, activities at several police stations nationwide have now resumed.
Police Superintendent Enamul Haque Sagar from the Media and Public Relations Division of Police Headquarters confirmed this information on Saturday.
He said: "As of 3pm on Saturday, operations have resumed in 538 out of a total of 639 police stations across the country.
“Among the 110 metropolitan police stations, 84 have resumed operations, while 454 out of 529 district police stations are now operational," he added.
This leaves 101 police stations yet to resume operations, including 26 in metropolitan areas and 75 in district areas.
