The National Committee on Security Affairs is set to hold a meeting on Sunday amid the ongoing student movement.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to preside over the meeting, scheduled for 11am.

The National Committee on Security Affairs is the highest policy-making authority on the national security of the government of Bangladesh.

Headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the committee was formed in March 2019 after the cabinet approved the National Defence Policy-2018.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said she wants to sit with quota reform protesters.

“Ganabhaban’s gates are open. I want to sit with quota reform protesters. I want to listen to them. I don't want conflict.”

She made the comments at a meeting with the central leaders of the Professional Coordination Council.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also instructed law enforcers to release the detained students and said every murder will be prosecuted.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on Friday announced their next course of action programs for Saturday and Sunday.

Rifat Rashed and Mahin, two coordinators of the movement, made the announcement on their Facebook page.

They urged people from all walks of life to come out in alleys, streets and neighborhoods to make the program a success.
