Security strengthened in Gazipur industrial areas as factories open after 5 days

Security has been strengthened in Gazipur industrial areas as the factories have opened after five days amid the nationwide curfew.

BGB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Islam said that BGB are always ready to help the civil administration, apart from performing border duties.

At present, the members of all the forces including the BGB, RAB, police and the army are working shoulder to shoulder to eliminate the sabotage created in the country.

“You have seen that we have brought the vandalism, arson and chaos in the country under control for the past few days.”

Now garment owners have opened factories. BGB members are working to ensure that the workers can come to work in the factory without fear and that no other miscreant can plan any sabotage inside it. The patrolling of law and order forces has been strengthened in Gazipur.

The BGB captain said these things during a briefing with journalists in Konabari area of ​​Gazipur metropolitan city on Wednesday.

Owners and workers of RMG factories in Gazipur have expressed their satisfaction following opening of factories after five consecutive days.

Workers were seen joining work in groups in Konabari and Bhogra industrial areas on Wednesday morning.

The workers said they had no problem attending work as there was adequate security.

Meanwhile, Md Zakir Hossain, MD and CEO of Fardar Fashions Limited in Bhogra Bypass Mor area, has requested to keep open the garment industry as an emergency service on a priority basis.

Zakir Hossain has sought the cooperation of the law and order enforcement forces so that RMG workers can go to their workplaces smoothly showing their identity cards during the curfew.

He also requested to make broadband internet service active so that they could not maintain any communication with the buyers. Many orders were canceled in the past few days due to internet disruption. It has caused irreparable damage to them.

He also requested to keep the WhatsApp service active to communicate with the buyers quickly.

Almost 100% of the workers joined the work as the factory opened on Wednesday after five days.

If the factory is open, that it will be possible to overcome the loss quickly.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sarwar Alam of Gazipur Industrail police, said that there are a total of 2,225 different factories in Gazipur including garment factories.

“We have information that all establishments have already opened from Wednesday. We have more than 500 members of other law enforcement agencies deployed for the overall security of factory owners, workers and all concerned. So far the information we have is that all but two factories are open. A peaceful atmosphere prevails everywhere,” said the SP.

He called upon the workers to work without any fear.

“We are committed to ensure your safety,” he added.
