Following the nationwide unrest, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has issued directives to close all primary schools across Bangladesh for an indefinite period.
Senior Information Officer of the ministry, Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, informed Dhaka Tribune about the decision on Wednesday.
Considering the overall situation and ensuring the safety of students and educational institutions, the decision to keep all primary schools closed until further notice has been made, he said.
Previously, amid incidents of violence following the nationwide unrest, classes were suspended in primary schools under the jurisdictions of eight city corporations across the country.
However, primary schools in districts and upazila was remained operational.
