Although the distribution companies are incurring losses, the price of electricity at the consumer level is not increasing for the time being, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has said.
He made the comment at a press conference on Thursday.
The IMF has given the condition of increasing the price of electricity four times a year. In view of this, the price has been increased twice and it is a regular adjustment, he added.
“When we are asked to increase the price again, we will increase the price. However, the price of electricity is not increasing at the consumer level,” the state minister added.
