Some local people have allegedly vandalised the home of China Begum, a follower of Lalan Shah, in Takimara village of Kushtia Sadar Upazila.
China, the 90-year-old widow of Gazi Uddin Fakir, alleged that the house just beside the grave of Gazi Uddin Fakir was destroyed. Bamboos, poles and parts of the tin-roof were seen scattered in the yard of the house.
She alleged that the attackers first gathered people by using the loudspeaker of the nearby mosque. When she protested, the attackers assaulted her as well. The woman alleged that an outsider who had just built a house in the area pushed her to the floor.
The woman has filed a complaint against 50 people, including former union parishad member Enamul Huq, Matabbar Mosharraf Hossain, Anar Mandal and Saidul Haji with the local police station in this regard.
China Begum said: "Before his death, my husband told me that if there is no place for me, I must stay next to his grave. Every year, even if the weather is unfavorable, I have tried to follow the last wish of my husband. I built the house to keep my promise. But the local people demolished the house without informing me.”
