The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) authorities will launch a shuttle bus service on Wednesday to provide baggage transportation facilities to incoming and outgoing passengers.

Two BRTC buses will be operated from the airport to the Airport Railway Station and bus station.

M Mofidur Rahman, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), made the information at a public hearing at the airport on Tuesday.

Roads Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will inaugurate the service in the morning.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Muhammad Faruk Khan and senior officials of the relevant ministries will be present at the airport.

BRTC bus service is being launched to provide baggage service to the passengers returning to the country. Besides, I have given instructions to the service companies to provide facilities in advance after asking about the needs of the passengers, said the CAAB chairman.

The management of Shahjalal Airport is in progress to satisfy passengers through services, he said.

About 30 companies are engaged at the airport to ensure smooth passenger service.

The hearing was arranged to evaluate how much their service has been improved and to know what problems are being faced by passengers at the airport.

The airport authority organized the public hearing.

In the public hearing, several passengers going abroad raised various issues of harassment in passenger services at the airport.
