Washington University of Science and Technology (WUST), located at 2900 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria in the US, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh-based Let’s Talk Mental Health (LTMH) to provide mental health services to students efficiently.

Chancellor Engr Abu Bokor Hanip of WUST and Co-founder and President of Let’s Talk Mental Health Anusha Chowdhury recently signed the agreement on behalf of the two institutions.

This partnership aims to provide comprehensive mental health resources, including workshops, counseling services, and educational programs, tailored to the needs of students, faculty, and staff, according to a statement.

“We have a global presence. In the US, we have a pool of physiologists and psychiatrists. WUST also has its own psychologists. Essentially, two expert teams will work together to support students’ mental health,” said Anusha Chowdhury.

“60% of WUST students are Bengali. Through our joint efforts, they will be able to attend counseling sessions with Bangladeshi experts, enabling them to express their depression and anxiety in their native Bangla language,” she explained.

“Each month, we will organize workshops and plan webinars together, allowing students to attend directly.”
