President Mohammed Shahabuddin arrived in his hometown Pabna on a four-day visit on Sunday.
The president reached Shaheed Advocate Amin Uddin Stadium by helicopter from Dhaka at 12:40pm. It is his fourth visit as head of the state.
Upon his arrival, the president was welcomed by local elected representatives and senior officials of the local administration.
The president received a guard of honour after arriving at Pabna Circuit House, where he will be staying during his visit.
President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin said that during the four-day visit, the president is scheduled to participate in various programs, including meetings with local business leaders, government officials and elected representatives.
According to the program schedule, he will hold a meeting with government officials and employees at 11:30am on Monday .
On Wednesday, he will hold another views-exchange meeting with representatives of the Pabna Chamber of Commerce and Industries at 11:30am.
Meanwhile, the leaders and workers of various organizations, including the ruling Awami League, other associate bodies and different sociocultural organizations welcomed the president.
Different colourful banners and festoons, with the photographs of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were hanging across the district.
Intensified security measures were taken for the president's visit, Pabna Superintendent of Police Akbar Ali Munshi said.
The president is scheduled to return to the capital by helicopter at 11:40am on June 12.
