Journalists assualted after oath-taking program of Shilpi Samiti at FDC

  • Several juornos injured
  • Injured were rescued and sent to hospitals

Actors allegedly assaulted journalists at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (FDC)  on Tuesday evening after the oath-taking program of the newly elected committee of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti 2024-26.

The injured journalists have been sent to hospitals.

The injured in the attack were Daily Khabarer Kagoj Entertainment Reporter Mithun Al Mamun, his cameraman and eight others people. 

Journalists present at the scene said that the dispute between the journalists and the artists started based on the interview of an actress.

Following this, some actors attacked journalists. 

Being rescued, they were sent to the hospital.

According to journalists, actor Joy Chowdhury, actor Shiba Shanu, Alexander Bo and many others were involved in the attack.

Earlier, at around 5:30pm, the rest of the members of Shilpi Samiti took oath under the leadership of President Misha Sawdagar in the open premises of BFDC. 

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner Khorshed Alam Khusru administered the oath to Misha.

In his speech after taking the oath, the newly elected General Secretary Monowar Hossain Dipjol said: "Many people have done a lot for films in the past. We look forward to get something new from our new committee over the next two years. 

“We will look forward and try to do better. Inshallah, you will be by our side,” he added.
