Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has announced the initiative to construct Nazrul Sarobar in Dhanmondi Lake, style after Rabindra Sarobar.
The DSCC mayor said this during a special cleanliness campaign in Dhanmondi Lake on Wednesday afternoon.
"After the government was formed in 1996, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina turned Dhanmondi Lake into a beautiful lake through comprehensive planning, infrastructure development, and beautification. We are continuously working to enhance its beauty and appeal. We have taken additional steps for its improvement. We have also cleaned the area from Dhanmondi 32 to Sampan for the construction of Nazrul Sarobar, style after Rabindra Sarobar," the DSCC mayor said.
"We will start the work shortly. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already reviewed the design of Nazrul Sarobar. We hope she will grace the foundation stone laying ceremony of Nazrul Sarobar as the chief guest," he added.
