Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan visited the Bangladesh-Myanmar border areas on Sunday.
He visited the Hoikang border in Teknaf, the Palongkhali border in Ukhiya, and the Tumburu border area in Bandarban.
BGB-34 Commander (Cox's Bazar) Lt Col Mohammad Saiful Islam Chowdhury said the director general visited the border to monitor the border situation in addition to the regular operational, training, and administrative activities.
During his visit, he instructed the BGB members to perform their duties with the utmost professionalism at the border amid the ongoing conflict between the Myanmar Army (Border Guard Police) and the Arakan Army.
“The BGB is a well-trained and reputed force. It is professionally monitoring the current situation in Myanmar,” the BGB director general said.
