The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has lifted the condition on the limit on unused data to be carried forward to the next purchase of the same pack.
Now there would be no limit on the unused data usage.
BTRC Commissioner Sheikh Riaz Ahmed said: “The customer needs to buy the same pack to carry forward the unused data.”
Previously, mobile users could roll over up to 50 GB of unused data to their next data pack purchase if a pack expires.
According to the updated Guidelines for Mobile Phone Operators' Data and Data Packages-2023, unused data, whatever the volume is, would be saved and automatically added to the next renewal when the customer buys the same pack but for a different expiry period.
