The Awami League has decided to hold a rally in Dhaka on Wednesday after winning in the 12th national parliamentary election.
The rally will be held at 2:30pm at Suhrawardy Udyan , marking Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Homecoming Day.
Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the party, said this at a press conference at the Dhaka District Awami League office in Tejgaon on Monday afternoon.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the rally, he said.
Obaidul Quader said: "Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is going to become the prime minister for the fourth time in a row and fifth time in total. Ambassadors from India, Russia, China, Bhutan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan and Brazil met and congratulated her.”
The Awami League secured an absolute majority in parliament after winning 223 of 299 seats in the the national parliamentary polls held on Sunday.
