The protest led to a 12km-long tailback of vehicles created on both sides of the highway.

According to locals, workers of Doreen Garments protested at the Nabi Textile area on the Nabinagar-Chandra highway in Ashulia on Thursday.

The protest began when a few garment workers staged a protest beside the road in the afternoon. Soon, thousands of workers from Doreen Garments began pounding the road.
