The Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) will begin in the third week of January at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka’s Purbachal area.

A senior official of the Commerce Ministry said the trade fair will start between January 15 to 20 instead of January 1 due to the national election, to be held on January 7.

The government is making all sorts of preparations to hold the fair in a peaceful atmosphere, he added.

There will be premium pavilions and mini pavilions, reserved pavilions for women, foreign pavilions, general pavilions, and food stalls at the fair.

The official said the range of this fair has been increased compared to previous years.

In the last fair, the minimum rent for the premier pavilion floor was Tk20 lakh, but the rent for the upcoming fair has been fixed at Tk22 lakh. Similarly, the rent has been increased from a minimum of Tk3.50 lakh to Tk4 lakh for general stalls and Tk4.50 lakh for reserved stalls.

The minimum rent of reserved mini pavilions has been increased by 47% to Tk11 lakh.

The ticket price of entry to the fair for adults has been increased to Tk50 and for minors Tk25.
