Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chief Patron Raushan Ershad is at Ganabhaban to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The vehicle carrying her entered the premier’s official residence Ganabhaban at around 12:30pm on Tuesday.
Raushan Ershad is accompanied by her son Saad Ershad and her Political Secretary Golam Masih, Moshiur Rahman Ranga, MP and Kazi Mamunur Rashid.
Earlier on November 19, a Jatiya Party delegation led by Raushan Ershad paid a courtesy call to President Mohammed Sahabuddin at Bangabhaban.
After meeting with the president Raushan said: “Jatiya Party is an election-oriented party. We have already prepared to participate in the elections. We respect the Constitution. So we welcome the schedule announced by the Election Commission. However, a proposal has been made to the President to extend the election schedule.”
Despite all this, the Jatiya Party has announced participation in the 12th national parliament election alone, excluding Raushan Ershad.
The chief patron did not collect the nomination form, and after 32 years, JaPa walked on the road to the election without Raushan.
The Jatiya Party has nominated candidates for 288 seats, intensifying the political atmosphere.
Currently, the key leaders of the Jatiya Party, led by GM Quader, are engaged in negotiations with the ruling Awami League in preparation for the upcoming 12th national parliamenty election. A series of meetings has taken place as part of these discussions.
