'Everyone should take responsibility for keeping seashores clean'

Everyone has a responsibility to bring the longest beach in the world to the world's attention, and awareness programs should be organized regularly in this regard.

The call was made during the opening ceremony of an event, titled "Beach Cleaning and Awareness Campaign", in Cox's Bazar on Monday.

 The campaign was part of a two-day program organized by Bangla Tribune and the Bangladesh Tourism Board.

Bangladesh Tourism Board Deputy Director Mohammad Saiful Hasan said at the ceremony: "A master plan has been formulated. With everyone's efforts, Cox's Bazar will be developed as one of the most attractive sea beaches in the world."

Bangla Tribune's Special Correspondent Udisa Islam highlighted the importance of volunteers' work and said: "Our citizens will become good citizens under your supervision. The Bangla Tribune will always stand by the huge social responsibility of volunteers to keep the sector clean."

Touhidul Islam Toha, an entrepreneur in the sector, said: "This initiative will be helpful in making people aware. A clean beach is important for tourism. Now people are more aware in this regard than before."

District Tour Operators' Association General Secretary Nurul Kabir said: "Cox's Bazar is our pride, and we will keep this city clean."

Members of local voluntary organizations Coxian Express, Tarunner Abhijatrik, Swapna Tari Foundation, CEHRDF, and the Youth Organization of Ukhiya participated in the campaign under the management of Yasid. 

On the second day of the program today, a seminar, titled "Success and Prospects of Tourism", will be held. Crests will be presented to the volunteers to recognize their work during the seminar. 

The program is being organized with the special support of mobile financial service provider bKash. US-Bangla Airlines is the airline partner for the event; North South University is the knowledge partner, Kazi, and Kazi Tea is the beverage partner, and Hotel Kallol is the hotel partner of the event.
