The wealth of Hasanul Haque Inu, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSoD) president and Kushtia-2 (Mirpur-Bheramara) lawmaker, has increased almost four times in the past five years
His annual income currently stands at Tk33,74,804, according to his affidavit submitted to the returning officer’s office in Kushtia ahead of the upcoming 12th national parliamentary election.
Besides, the wealth of Inu’s wife, Afroza Haque Rina, has increased almost three-fold in the past five years, as shown in the affidavit.
According to the information given in the affidavit, Hasanul Haq Inu identifies himself as a political activist and engineer. Most of his income comes from his business, salaries, dividends from banking and financial institutions, and payments for TV talk shows.
Tk7,62,149 of his annual income comes from his business. His income from salary and allowances is Tk23.27 lakh. He earns Tk2,16,070 from TV talk shows and bank interest.
Without mentioning the price of the three bighas of inherited land, the price of a 10-katha piece of land in the capital’s Purbachal has been shown to be worth Tk16.10lakh.
Apart from this, Inu's movable assets include cash of Tk1.58 crore and Tk1.98 lakh crore received from the sale of his cars.
Meanwhile, his wife has Tk1.61 crore in cash.
Besides, Inu has deposits of Tk14,84,924 in banks and financial institutions and has a deposit of Tk16,37,270 in the name of his wife in banks and financial institutions.
The price of Hasanul Haque Inu's jeep has been shown at Tk4 lakh.
In 1974, Inu received 25 bhoris of gold as a gift. In the same year, his wife received a gift of 40 bhoris of gold, as mentioned in the affidavit.
The statement also showed furniture worth Tk1,55,650.
