AM Anisuzzaman,Ex CSP, former Advisor of the first Interim and caretaker government, ex-advisor to the prime minister for Food and Agriculture, and ex-secretary to the government, passed away at his Gulshan residence in Dhaka on Wednesday morning. He was 91.
He joined the then-Civil Service in 1956 and served in several key positions in the government during his long span of service career.
He was the secretary of Ministry of Agriculture after liberation of Bangladesh, and later worked as secretary in several other ministries of the Government till his retirement in 1990.
He made significant contribution to agriculture development and strengthening local government in the country.
During his tenure as Secretary Ministry of Relief and Relief Commissioner in 1969-1970 and in course of his other postings before liberation, AM Anisuzzaman highlighted and promoted the cause of the then East Bengal and Bengalis.
He leaves behind his three sons and only daughter.
