Despite the 48-hour blockade announced by the BNP, Khandaker Enayet Ullah, secretary general of the Bangladesh Road Transport Owners' Association, said that bus and minibus services will operate normally throughout the country, including Dhaka.
In a media statement on Tuesday, Khandaker Enayet Ullah conveyed that bus and minibus movements will proceed without disruption across the nation, including Dhaka, during the 48-hour blockade from Wednesday to Thursday.
He emphasized that road transport owners and workers are rejecting the BNP's blockade. In consideration of the people's hardship, the owners and workers will defy the blockade and continue regular operations.
He also appealed to the concerned police administration to enhance the security system at key locations in the district, including Dhaka, to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles during the blockade.
BNP has called for a fifth-phase blockade, planning a 48-hour program across the country on roads, railways, and waterways from 6am on Wednesday to 6am on the following Friday, with a break on Tuesday.
