Weather starts getting cooler

  • Lowest temperature 14.5 degrees Celsius in Tetulia
  • Mercury expected to drop further

A mild breeze has been blowing through Dhaka in the evenings for the past few days with the temperature starting to drop as the night progresses.

Winter has come early in villages, where many people have begun to wear winter clothes.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the country's temperature might drop further over in next few days. 

It said in its evening forecast on Sunday that the seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay. A low-pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay and adjoining areas during the next two days, it added.


The next three days are expected to bring mostly cloudy skies and dry weather across the country, and day and night temperatures may not change much.

Tetulia upazila of Panchagarh recorded the lowest temperature in the country during the past 24 hours at 14.5 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Dhaka’s lowest temperature was 20.8 degrees Celsius, Rajshahi’s 18 degrees, Rangpur’s 18.7 degrees, Mymensingh’s 19 degrees, Sylhet’s 20.5 degrees, Chittagong’s 21.9 degrees, Khulna’s 19.8 degrees and Barisal’s 18.4 degrees.
