The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has taken proactive measures to maintain law and order in Bangladesh in response to a 48-hour nationwide blockade initiated by the BNP, Jamaat and allied opposition groups, deploying 228 platoons across the country.
Shariful Islam, public relations officer at the BGB headquarters, confirmed this deployment on Monday morning.
On the first day of the blockade, Sunday, 27 BGB platoons were stationed in Dhaka and its neighbouring districts to prevent any untoward incidents.
Like the first spell of the blockade, the BGB has been performing its duties alongside the police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Ansar to ensure security in Dhaka and other parts of the country.
