Jubo League Executive Committee Member Dr Ashikur Rahman Shanto said BNP-Jamaat has started deadly politics across Bangladesh.
“They have to be resisted. No anti-national forces will be allowed to come to power through the back door. As a child of a freedom fighter, I am ready to give my life to protect the sovereignty of Bangladesh,” he said at a peace and development rally organized by Bhola’s Doulatkhan and Borhanuddin upazila unit Awami League on Sunday
Dr Ashikur said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is building Bangabandu’s dream Sonar Bangladesh.
“Bangladesh has changed because of the Awami League government being in power for 15 years and the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The quality of life of the people of all classes and professions of the country is improving,” he added.
He claimed that the BNP and Jamaat are trying to create anarchy across the country to obstruct Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's works. “But Doulatkhan and Borhanuddin upazila Awami League leaders and activists will resist them (BNP-Jamaat).
Dr Ashikur also urged women to build forts to resist these parties as Bangabandhu dreamt of moving the country forward with them (women).
Bangabandhu believed that women would not only sit at home, but they would work equally for reform and governance of the state, he added.
