The Cabinet on Monday approved the proposed list of 22 holidays for the 2024 calendar year, but two of those holidays fell on Fridays.
The Cabinet meeting was held at Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence Ganabhaban.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting.
In 2023, the Cabinet approved 22 holidays as well, and among them, eight holidays coincided with weekends (Fridays and Saturdays).
The holidays include 14 general holidays and eight more that will come with the executive orders of the government.
