Batikrom Nattyagosty, a theatrical troupe, reminiscing the contribution of the great dramatist Syed Mohidul Islam on his 22th death anniversary and celebrating their 47th founding anniversary, will arrange the “Syed Mohidul Islam Remembrance Festival 2023” from November 3 to November 5.
The festival will be held at the main auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The festival will include other festivities, such as award-giving ceremonies, presentations of different plays and commemoration.
This series of exceptional events in memory of actor, director, dramatist and producer Syed Mohidul Islam will enter its 17th year this year.
The award-giving ceremony will comprise the “Syed Mohidul Islam medal”, “Monchobondhu' honourary awards”, and “Jugol honorary awards”.
Renowned actress Dilara Zaman is going to receive this year's “Syed Mohidul Islam Padak”.
Additionally, Dr Ali Mahmud, Iqbal Babu, Awal Reza, Pankaj Majumder, and Shishir Rahman will receive Monchobondhu honourary awards.
Furthermore, Professor Ratan Siddique and Fahmida Haque Koli, Kazi Raju and Kazi Laila Bilkis, Shahed Sharif Khan and Natasha Hayat, and Ali Ahmed Mukul and Jolly Chowdhury are nominated for
'Jugol' honorary awards.
The inaugural ceremony of the event will take place on November 3 at the National Theatre Hall, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The play, “Amra Tinjon'' will be staged by the theatrical group, ‘Lok Nattyadol'.
“Pakhi” by “Batikrom Nattyagosty” and “Phire Dekha” by “School of Acting” will be performed on November 4.
“Spartacus Bisoyok Jotilota” will be performed by “Theatre” on November 5
Along with these, regular discussion sessions and remembrance meetings will be held with other festivities during the reminiscent festival.
