Police arrested two people for possessing these endangered Hanuman (capped langur) without the required license or farm and rescued the Hanumans in Feni on Sunday morning.
The arrestees are Md Sujan Uddin and Md Shakil.
Feni District Additional Police Superintendent Thoi Aung Marma handed over the Hanumans to the members of the Forest Department.
Feni Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Mahfuzur Rahman said a case has been filed against the arrested under the Wildlife (Conservation and Security) Act 2012.
Acting on a tip-off, Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman searched a car headed for Dhaka in the Lalpul area on Saturday night and rescued three Hanumans.
Upazila forest officer Babul Chandra Bhowmik said: “The hanumans will be sent to Cox's Bazar Dulahazra Safari Park.”
Earlier, on Saturday around 10pm, two Hanumans and 16 turtles were rescued in a vehicle belonging to GS Travels on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
Ahaduzzaman Raju, 42, was arrested for possessing these endangered Hanuman (capped langur ) and turtles without the required license or farm.
