The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast that there may be more rainfall across Bangladesh, including in Dhaka, over a 72-hour period from 9am on Friday.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at most places in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at many places in Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions; and at a few places in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions, with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at other places, said a weather office bulletin.
The highest rainfall in 24 hours till 6am, 378mm, was recorded in Mymensingh.
The highest temperature was 32.3 degrees Celsius in Bhola under Barisal division, while the lowest temperature was 22.8 degrees in Panchagarh’s Tetulia.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country, said the bulletin.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over the North Bay.
