The ruling Awami League has drawn up various programs to celebrate the party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's 76th birthday on Thursday.
Sheikh Hasina, the eldest among the five children of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Begum Fazilatunnesa, was born at Tungipara in Gopalganj on September 28 in 1947.
Like previous years, the Awami League will celebrate the day through various programs highlighting the life and achievements of Sheikh Hasina, who is leading the nation to build an exploitation and hungry-free 'Golden Bangladesh' dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu.
On the occasion, after Johr prayers, milad and doa mahfils will be held in the capital and different parts of the country. A doa and milad mahfil will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital.
Special prayers will be offered at different churches and temples of the country too. Special prayers will be held at International Buddhist Monastery (Merul Badda) at 9am, Christian Association Bangladesh (CAB), Mirpur Baptist Church at 9am and Dhakeshwari Temple at 11am on the day.
As part of the central programs, the Awami League and its associated entities will hold discussions, joy processions, meetings, doa mahfils and photo exhibitions.
A discussion will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) at 3pm on Friday with AL presidium member Engr Mosharraf Hossain in the chair.
After Asr prayers, a doa and milad mahfil will be arranged at Awami League's Bangabandhu Avenue central office, seeking good health and long life of Sheikh Hasina.
Central leaders will attend the programs. Besides, all the associated organizations of Awami League will observe the day through various programs, including discussions, doa-mahfils, special prayers and photo exhibitions.
On the occasion of Sheikh Hasina's birthday, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader urged all party and allied-organizations' leaders, activists, supporters and well-wishers of all levels, social and cultural organizations for holding milad and doa mahfils in all mosques and special prayers at all religious places.
He also urged Awami League's all district, upazila, Pourashava, union and ward units to celebrate the birthday of President Sheikh Hasina.
