Two women, who were injured in a gas cylinder explosion at a house in Narayanganj's Araihazar on Friday, died while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka on Saturday.
The deceased is identified as Saima, 40 and Kaniz Khadija Nipa, 28.
Two others of the same family were also injured in the incident. The injured are Hasina Momtaz, 60, Sohan, 45.
Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery resident doctor Tariqul Islam said: "Saima had suffered 90% burn injuries. Saima died at 2pm while undergoing treatment. Nipa died in the morning."
"Two others are currently undergoing treatment. Among them, 55% of Hasina's body and 99% of Sohan's body were burnt."
On Friday night, a gas cylinder exploded on the fourth floor of a house in Araihazar's Dighirpar area.
