Update : 17 Sep 2023, 07:02 PM

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will again conduct drives in hospitals across the country from Monday.

"We will intensify the campaign in this critical time of dengue," Additional Director General of DGHS Prof Dr Ahmedul Kabir said at a press conference on Sunday afternoon.

He said: “We have told all civil surgeons to create rapid response teams in every hospital. These teams will keep a close watch on patients in poor condition to prevent their condition from getting worse. They have been instructed not to send such patients to Dhaka.”

He added that civil surgeons have been asked to form a coordination team. A drive involving civil surgeons, Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection and local magistrates has been asked to be conducted.

The pharmacies or clinics that have unethically stored saline will be identified and administrative action will be taken.

DGHS also called for the closure of illegal clinics, diagnostic centres and unsuitable ICUs across the country.
