Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader left Dhaka for Singapore for a routine health check-up on Saturday morning.
Quader, who is also general secretary of the ruling Awami League, departed the capital on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 8:30am.
The veteran politician has been suffering from heart and lung problems for some time.
