Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim on Friday said BNP-Jamaat clique wants to turn Bangladesh into a communal state.
"During the BNP-Jamaat alliance regime, they had created safe haven of terrorism in Bangladesh by creating terrorists like Shaykh Abdur Rahman and Bangla Bhai," he told a view-exchange meeting organized by Awami League's Madaripur municipality unit at Puran Bazar in the town.
Noting that the BNP-Jamaat alliance wants to turn Bangladesh into neo-Pakistan, Nasim urged all to remain alert against the conspiracy.
'Boat', the election symbol of Awami League, is the trust symbol of the countrymen, he said and hoped the people will again cast their votes in favour of boat in the next general election.
Madaripur municipality unit Awami League President Akbar Hossain Hawlader presided over the meeting and its General Secretary Siddiqur Rahman Parvez Chowdhury moderated it.
