A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR) of United International University (UIU) and Nodes Digital Ltd for research collaboration at the UIU campus in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Prof Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia, vice chancellor (in-charge), United International University (UIU) presided over the ceremony, says a press release issued on Thursday.
While Professor Emeritus Dr M. Rezwan Khan, executive director of IAR and former VC of UIU, Md Abdul Moqaddem, treasurer of UIU, Shovan Samaddar, managing director, Nodes Digital Ltd and Sanjana Rizvan, senior business development manager, Nodes Digital Ltd, were present in the program.
Prof Dr Salekul Islam, director, CAIR, UIU and Dr Md Rashedul Hoque, director, Nodes Digital Ltd signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
The registrar, deans of different faculties, heads of different departments, directors and high officials were present in the program.
This MoU will promote and facilitate collaborative research partnership opportunities between Nodes Digital Ltd and CAIR, UIU. CAIR, UIU which has already developed the best robots in Asia in University Rover Challenge (URC) is envisioned to develop and implement algorithms and systems for aerial, space, ground and underwater robots for research and industrial applications.
Jointly, they will work together on applications of such systems in the field of agriculture and aquaculture.
