Enamul Hoque of the daily Bangladesh Khobor has been elected the Gazipur Press Club Executive Committee president while Mahatab Uddin Ahammad of the News Times its general secretary.
Election Commissioner Kazi Mosaddek Hossain announced them as winners at around 3pm on Saturday after voting ended.
Earlier in the day, voting for the president’s post began at around 9am as there were lone candidates for 16 out of 17 posts, including the general secretary. For the president’s post there were two candidates.
As a result 16 candidates were elected uncontested.
The other winners include Syed Moksedul Alam Liton as senior vice president, vice president Abdus Salam Shanto and joint secretary Mir Mohammad Faruk.
