Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday expressed confidence that Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders would lead the vision of "Smart Bangladesh" by 2041.
At the largest-ever grand rally of the Chhatra League held in Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan, the premier, speaking as the chief guest, said: “Today’s activists of my Chhatra League will lead Smart Bangladesh in 2041. Bangladesh’s journey will not stop in 2041. I have also devised the delta plan for 2100. Thus, no one can halt the progress of this Bangladesh.”
The Awami League president called upon the Chhatra League leaders and activists to always be vigilant to thwart any conspiracy to obstruct the progress of Bangladesh.
Expressing her commitment to building a developed and prosperous country, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said: “Today my sole goal is to improve Bangladesh. In the words of poet Sukanta, I want to make this world habitable for children; this is my promise to the newcomers.”
“I have no fear. I love the people of this country; I will build Bangladesh in the spirit of the Liberation War,” she asserted.
The former activist of Chhatra League highlighted the positive works of the ruling party's student wing and said: “I feel proud when Chhatra League comes forward to assist with people’s needs. In this manner, if the Chhatra League can uphold its ideals and move forward, then no one can stop the progress of this country.”
Referring to the Chhatra Dal, the student wing of the opposition BNP, Sheikh Hasina said: “Chhatra League has always practiced ideological politics. But Khaleda Zia handed over arms to Chhatra Dal. And I handed over the pen and book to the Chhatra League.”
Bangladesh Chhatra League organized the student rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Friday afternoon in memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib.
Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saddam Hussain presided over the rally and General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan conducted it.

Hundreds of thousands of leaders and activists from across the country participated in the rally with colourful processions.
