“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, at many places over Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours.
Day temperature may rise by (1-2)°C and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the forecast begins from 9am on Sunday.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded by 33.2 degrees Celsius at Mongla while minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded by 24.0 degrees Celsius jointly at Kutubdia and Bandarban.
