The ruling Awami League will hold a youth-focused rally on the first day of September and another one the next day.
Party chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will speak as chief guest at both gatherings, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said after a meeting at the Dhaka district Awami League office in Tejgaon on Tuesday afternoon.
Referring to the observance of National Mourning Day on August 15 this year, Quader said: “We are looking forward to seeing a huge audience in the gathering on September 2. Awami League leaders and activists are ready to tackle communalism and militancy with their strength.”
“The battle we fought after 1975 was a struggle for survival. After 1975, the name of the biggest achievement of this country is Sheikh Hasina; the achievement of all development has been under her leadership. Two immortal names in the history of this country are Bangabandhu and Sheikh Hasina.”
