State minister warns dire consequence against sabotage centring election

  • BNP lacks strength to challenge Sheikh Hasina
  • Awami League's past defeat in manipulated elections

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has issued a stern warning and said anyone who will try to sabotage the next election will face dire consequences.

The state minister said this during a protest rally at Dinajpur Institute premises on Monday.

He said: "BNP does not have the strength to face Sheikh Hasina. So do not play with fire. Your hand will get burned. Awami League leaders and activists have woken up."

"We believe in democracy. The prime minister said the next election will be participatory. We want to see a developed and standard Bangladesh in 2041," he added.

"Aziz, Latifur Rahman, Sayeed and Shahabuddin had damaged the Election Commission. We do not want that kind of election. Anyone trying to sabotage the next one will face severe consequences," he added.

The state minister said: "The Awami League was defeated in fake elections, causing turmoil and enabling murderers to take control. The attack on Sheikh Hasina must not happen again. Awami League members need to stay united. Awami League's politics represents Bangladesh's liberation, future, and development under Sheikh Hasina's leadership."

Among others, District Awami League President Advocate Md Mostafizur Rahman and General Secretary Md Altafuzzaman Mita spoke at the event.
