Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin emphasized the importance of schools and madrasas for the country's progress, reaffirming Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League’s unwavering commitment to this cause.
The government is working to improve education quality by improving infrastructure in educational institutions.
“Following the establishment of Digital Bangladesh, currently, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is now focused on building a Smart Bangladesh,” he said during an event commemorating the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on Sunday in Moulvibazar.
Shahab Uddin said: “The Awami League government is working for religious development, building madrasa infrastructure, and raising madrasa teacher’s salaries. While the opposition engages in religious politics, the Awami League remains steadfast in avoiding such tactics.”
The minister also assured to take measures to construct flood shelters and boundary walls as demanded by the school authorities.
Barlekha Upazila Parishad Chairman Shoeb Ahmad, former Barlekha Upazila Parishad chairman and Upazila Awami League acting general secretary Rafiqul Islam Sundar, Juri Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ratan Kumar Adhikari and Barlekha Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary Vivekananda Das Nantu also spoke on the occasion.
