Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal stated that Prime Minister has given clear instructions to ensure proper treatment for BNP leaders Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amanullah Aman, along with any other necessary measures.

“This is the humanity of the prime minister. She is the leader of humanity. But another leader (Khaleda Zia) likes to burn and kill people,” he said while talking to journalists after visiting the injured policemen at Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital on Saturday.

After hearing that Gayeshwar and Amanullah have fallen on the roads, the prime minister instructed all necessary treatment should be provided to them.

The prime minister is the 'Mother of Humanity', said the home minister.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal also said: “Our police force is not only for police work, they are the army of humanity. Police took a BNP leader to a hospital and assisted with necessary medical care.”

He also said when BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's youngest son Arafat Rahman Koko

died, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to see the body.

“But that day, they locked the door on the prime minister's face. Do you remember that scene? They did not even open the door that day, or talked to her,” he added.

Earlier in the day, PM's Assistant Private Secretary (APS) Gazi Hafizur Rahman Liku, on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's instructions, visited BNP leader Amanullah Aman, who was undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD).

He also gave the ailing BNP leader lunch, a fruit basket and juice sent by the prime minister.

Meanwhile, BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Dhaka Metropolitan Police Detective Branch (DB) chief Md Harun Or Rashid were seen having lunch at the DB office together.

The DB chief was photographed serving food to the BNP leader on Saturday.

The police released BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy from custody following his detention during a clash between law enforcement and party members in Dhaka's Matuail on Saturday afternoon.
