BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas has said that their rally took place after overcoming many hurdles and their programs cannot be obstructed anymore.
“There will be more rallies if it is required,” he made the comments at a rally organized by BNP in Dhaka's Naya Paltan on Friday.
Referring to the government, Mirza Abbas also said that a BNP rally, which took place on December 10 last year, was attempted to be foiled by the government, but they did not succeed.
Addressing the Awami League, he added: "Their party has become separated from the people. It has been proved during the Dhaka-17 by-polls.”
Thousands of leaders and activists of the BNP gathered in front of the party's Naya Paltan central office for its grand rally to press home its demand for a non-partisan government during the general election.
The rally, presided over by BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, started just after 2pm on Friday and was addressed, among others, by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
