Awami League's three associate bodies - Jubo League, Swechasebak League, and Chhatra League - which initially intended to hold a peace rally at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram on Thursday, have now shifted their plans to hold the rally at Dhaka International Trade Fair field at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar after failing to receive necessary permissions from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Secchasebok League General Secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu told Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday night that they are going to visit the Dhaka International Trade Fair field, which is most likely to be picked as the new venue.
They had earlier sought permission to hold the rally at the gymnasium ground of Dhaka University, confirmed Swechasebak League General Secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu on Wednesday.
The youth organizations chalked out plans to hold a massive peace rally in the capital on Thursday to protest the violent activities of BNP and its allied parties.
Last week, the BNP organized road marches in Dhaka and other parts of the country when the Awami League held rallies on the same day.
Violence between the supporters of the two parties and the BNP activists and the police was reported in nine districts, including Dhaka, on July 18.
