After killing his wife Shefali Khatun and hanging the body with a veil wrapped around the neck in Naldanga of Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha, Mohsin Ali surrendered to the police station.
The police recovered the body of the housewife from the house in Collegepara area of Naldanga union around 8pm on Saturday.
According to the police, Mohsin Ali killed Shefali Khatun through suffocation by wrapping a veil around her neck. Later, her body was hung from the ceiling of the bedroom.
Locals said that Shefali got married to Mohsin Ali four years ago. Mohsin did not do any work. After a few months of marriage, he was often seen getting into fight with his wife. Mohsin killed Shefali during an altercation on Saturday evening. The body was later hanged to make it look like suicide.
Locals alleged that Shefali, who was hanging, had a note in her hand. It read: “No one is responsible for my death, no one is at fault.”
