Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon has said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is working as a tool in the regime change strategy of the United States to falsify the next general election.
"They are walking on the same path of terror and violence as in 2014... But like in the past, they will be defeated this time," said lawmaker Menon at the extended meeting of the Gazipur district unit of the party on Monday.
"The people of Bangladesh will protect their right to vote and ensure peaceful elections on time," he added.
Menon said: "The events of the last few days have proved that the people did not respond to the BNP movement. People support peace and development. The people will give their verdict this time as they did in the past."
Workers Party district unit President Abdul Majid presided over the meeting, while acting secretary Mamun Hossain moderated it. Engineer Moktar, Nazmul Hasan, Ahiduzzaman Golap, Azgar Ali, and Saidul Islam spoke at the meeting, among others.
