BNP's income surpasses expenditure

  • BNP's surplus is Tk2,03,70,829 in 2022 
  • Income sources: Donations, FDR interest

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) reported a surplus in the year 2022, according to its financial statement.

The statement, submitted to the Election Commission on Sunday, shows the party earned Tk5,92,04,632 and incurred expenses of Tk3,88,33,803 in 2022.

BNP reported a surplus of Tk2,03,70,829, indicating a positive financial outcome.

BNP's Joint Secretary General, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi revealed the information to the reporters after submitting the party's financial statements to the Election Commission (EC) Secretary Jahangir Alam at Agargaon's Election Commission headquarters. 

Regarding the party's income, he said: "The money was earned through donations from members of the National Executive Committee, various individuals and organizations, and interest earned from FDR."

Regarding the expenditure, he added: "Office expenses include the printing of posters and leaflets, expenses for advertisements and brochures, distribution of relief among flood victims in different districts, financial assistance to the families of deceased and injured leaders and activists on different occasions, and Iftar Mahfil."

Earlier, in 2021, the party's income was Tk 84,12,444, while the expenses amounted to Tk1,98,47,171. In 2020, BNP's income was Tk 1,22,54,259, and the corresponding expenses totaled Tk1,74,52,500.
